CRACK SEALING
Crack Sealing is a highly recommended preventative maintenance approach that involves filling in asphalt cracks with a flexible pre-melted rubberized material.

Crack sealing is a maintenance activity used to prevent water and debris from entering into cracks in pavement surfaces. It involves filling or sealing cracks and joints in asphalt or concrete pavements using specialized materials and equipment.
Crack sealing is typically performed as a preventative measure to extend the life of a pavement and to minimize the need for more costly repairs in the future.
Crack sealing is an effective way to prevent water and debris from entering into cracks and joints, which can cause further damage to the pavement. By preventing the growth of cracks and preserving the integrity of the pavement surface, crack sealing can help extend the lifespan of a pavement and save money on more expensive repairs in the future.

PROCESS

Cleaning the cracks: The cracks are cleaned using high-pressure air, wire brushes, or other mechanical means to remove dirt, debris, and vegetation.

Preparing the cracks: The cracks are then prepared by widening them and removing any loose or broken pavement material to create a clean, sound surface for the sealant to adhere to.

Applying the sealant: A specialized hot or cold sealant material is applied to the cracks using a nozzle or wand. The sealant material is chosen based on factors such as pavement type, climate, and traffic volume.

Finishing the job: After the sealant has been applied, the surface is smoothed out and any excess material is removed. The sealant typically requires several hours to cure before the pavement can be opened to traffic.
